Haryana Farmers arrive in Delhi via trains and buses amid protests

Several farmers from Punjab and Haryana embarked on their journey to Delhi for protests, with some stopping at Rohtak's grain market for food and rest before continuing to the capital. Many arrived in private buses and personal vehicles, deliberately avoiding using tractors. They aimed to join a sit-in at Ramlila Maidan in response to a call from the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM).

Farmers arrive in Delhi for sit-in

Travelling by trains and buses, numerous farmers from various districts of Haryana reached New Delhi to participate in the sit-in at Ramlila Maidan. Despite attempts by Haryana police to prevent their march, the farmers remained determined to press for their demands.

The protest was fueled by demands for legal assurance on minimum support prices, farm loan forgiveness, and the withdrawal of cases against farmers from past and present agitations. SKM leaders emphasized that the rally served as a reminder to the Prime Minister to fulfill promises, particularly regarding doubling farmers' income by 2022. They warned of continued protests if their demands were not met.
